Live Podcast Recording Event at the University of Texas at Austin
In conversation Carolina Caycedo and David de Rozas
This Wednesday, October 27, from 6 - 8 PM CDT, join me for a live, in-person, recording of the Chrysalis podcast at the University of Texas at Austin. I will be in conversation with Carolina Caycedo and David de Rozas, artists and filmmakers who work across a wide variety of media to confront the brutality of colonialism, the beauty of indigenous cultural traditions, and the intimately entwined relationships between humans and the rest of nature.
If you can’t make the event in person, you can participate via the webinar, which will also allow you to ask questions during the event. Register for the webinar here.
This live event is sponsored by the Visual Arts Center, the Humanities Institute, and the Department of Radio-Television-Film at the University of Texas at Austin, in conjunction with Carolina and David’s show at the University of Texas Visual Arts Center, “The Blessings of the Mystery,” which “examines themes of environmental activism, encounters between history and memory, Indigenous rights, and the formation and dissemination of knowledge.” The exhibition features their experimental documentary film, The Teaching of the Hands (2020), which explores the complex histories and ecologies of West Texas, alongside other artworks.
You can RSVP for the event (in person and webinar) via the Facebook event page.
The event is free and open to the public.
Hope to see you there!
